Wednesday’s Results From Batter Up: Comeback City!

The Yankees and  Cubs played an outstanding game and proved the old adage of  “It’s

not over until its over” once again.  The Yanks had a 10-2 lead late in the game when

the Cubbies rallied to scored 9 runs and win 11-10 in a thriller.   Kevin Pomroy and

Ian Small each had two hits and 4 rbi’s for the Yankees while Elijah Martinez had 3 hits

scored twice for the Cubs, and Brady Sheffield had four hits, 3 rbi’s and 3 runs scored

to lead the comeback.

The Cardinals and Red Sox played to a 9-9 tie yesterday with many players contributing

offensively.  Hunter McDuff had 2 hits and an rbi, Connor Powell had two hits, and Kyle

Kobyluck chipped in 3 rbi’s.  For the Red Sox John Pellegrino and Alex Elmer each had

3 hits and 2 rbi’s while Zach Chateauneuf and Elijah Young had two hits and a run scored

each.

The Seminoles won the round robin game versus the Gators and Canes by the score of

6 – 5 – 2.  Leading the ‘Noles was Chris Stevens with a double and 2 rbi’s, Patrick Kelly with

a two run double and run scored, and Owen Elmer went deep with a two run bomb for

a home run.  The Gators were led by Colby Quinn who had 3 hits and 2 rbi’s, John Shenasky

with 2 doubles and 2 rbi’s, and Jamison Hewko with two hits.  The Hurricanes were led

by Santiago Benbow and Liam Fallon, who each had two hits, including a double by Fallon.

Benbow had the web gem of the day, with an outstanding play at second base.

 

The Dodgers made another great comeback after trailing 15-4 to beat the Giants 16-15

in a wild game featuring lots of offense.  Leading the way offensively in the comeback

was Chris Meninno with a 3 run home run and a 3 run triple by Max Van Dusen.  Derek

Stradczuck and Jay Zimmerman chipped in two hits apiece, while Cooper Bellos and Jay

Zimmermann each scored twice, and Nolan Marcille and Liam Stahl had hits and rbi’s.

 

UCLA beat Mississippi State 7-6 in another well played game with lots of good defense

throughout.  Leading UCLA was Joel Collado, who had a single, double and home run

and 3 rbi’s.  Coleman Glasser had the web gem of the day with diving defensive play.

For Mississippi State, Will Sutman had 3 hits and 4 rbi’s, including a double and home run

while Anthony Martinez had two hits and two runs scored.

 

The Mets and Braves played another great game, with the Mets winning 7-6 on Wednesday.

Paul Passas had a two run single for the Mets, Hayden Chappel had the web gem of the

day with a diving catch to save a run for the Mets, Anthony Nematalla had two hits

including a double and two rbi’s to lead the Braves comeback.  Sean Kramer chipped

in two hits and an rbi as well.
