Wednesday’s Batter Up Results, Mets and Braves Thriller

The Mets and Braves played the most exciting game of the day, with the Braves holding

on for an 18-17 win.  Julian Rodriquez led the Braves with a camp tying record 3 home

runs and 8 rbi’s, while Max Laterra hit a grand slam bomb just inside the foul poul.

Francisco Benbow turned a terrific double play for the Braves.  For the Mets, Wyatt

Verbridge hit two long home runs and a double.

In our round robin series with the Seminoles, Hurricanes and Gators the Seminoles

won again behind  a 2 run blast for a home run by Damian Adams.

Rhys Hammond and Steve Devoe had multiple hit games for the ‘Noles, while Aidan

Cameron and Jake O’Keefe paced the offense for the ‘Canes.  The Gators were led by

Gary Amidon and Jake Verbridge who had 3 hits apiece.

The Rockies beat the Diamondbacks 6-0 behind Tyler Rafferty’s 2 run single, Alex Jones

2 hits, and Evan Piotrowski’s rbi single.  Every player on the Rockies recorded at least

one hit.  For the Dbacks, they hit the ball but just couldn’t get any runs across in the

loss.  Nathan Deperrand Jimmy Powers led the offense with 2 hits each, while Hayes

Goodman had a hit and the play of the day with a diving catch for the Dbacks.

The Yankees beat the Red Sox yesterday, behind the hitting of Ben Powell, who had 4

hits, including a bases clearing triple.  Drew Wilson had 3 hits and a triple, and the rest

of the Yankees all had at least one hit in the game.  The rivalry continues on July 4th.

UCLA beat Miss St. to bring the series to 2-1 for Miss St.  Wynn Hammond, Hudson Byers,

and John Canella each had multiple hits and rbi’s for UCLA.  For Miss St, Jose Rodriquez

and Cole Devoe had 2 hits and an rbi to lead the team.   This may be the most competitive

series’ we have this week.  As Coach Aldrich says, every day is a “dogfight” because of

the hustle and determination shown by these teams.   Great job, keep it up.
