Tuesday’s Results From Batter Up

Another day in the books at Batter Up, and the games were very competitive again today.  There was some outstanding sportsmanship on display today at camp, which makes us very proud.  Here are the results from today’s games.


The Mets and Braves picked up their tie game from yesterday in the 5th inning and ended up tied today after 9 innings with the score 11-11.  Two very evenly matched teams for sure!  Ryan Dueker made the defensive play of the day with a great throw to home to keep the game tied, after Andy McDonald had hit a blast into the outfield.  Alex Amaro and Sawyer Chappel each made several great plays in the field as well.


The Giants beat the Dodgers in a great game, 12-8.  Leading the way for the Giants was Ryan Gemaly who had two extra base hits.  One of Ryan’s hits was against Coach Buscetto’s weak knuckleball… Alaina Sartori had two hits and scored twice for the Dodgers.


The Angels and the Nationals played to an 11-11 tie today in an offensive shootout.  Leading the way for the Nats was Cooper Sheehan with two hits and two rbi’s, Hagen Drake had two hits including a home run, and Torin Gordy saved multiple runs with a pair of defensive web gems.  The Angels were led by Will Dumond’s game tying 3 run home run and Rowan Gada’s two hits and two rbi’s.


The Florida Gators beat Arizona State today 11-5, now both teams are 1-1.  Leading the offense for the Gators was Nate Hynes with 2 home runs and 5 rbi’s, and Nolan Marcille with 2 doubles and some great plays in the outfield.  Cole Gaynor had two hits including a triple for the Gators.  Coach Fuller said that the Marcille/Gaynor outfield was lethal.  For ASU, Eli Sahadi had two hits and run scored and Alex Dreyfus doubled twice and tripled.


LSU and Miami played the highest scoring game in Batter Up history, ending in an 18-18 tie that will be continued later in the week.  For LSU, Liam Fallon had 3 doubles, Sam Forsyth homered, Luca Muscarella had 2 doubles and 2 rbi’s, and Evan McCue had 3 hits, including 2 doubles.  For Miami, Tyler Smith had 3 hits, Joshua Knight had 3 doubles and a single, Tyler Farris had 2 doubles, Derek Kennedy homered, and Connor Piper and Emmet Dunne had 3 hits.


The Yankees beat the Cardinals 16-15 on a walkoff single by Maddy Koning in the bottom of the 7th.  Koning finished with 2 hits, while Hunter McDuff had 3 hits for the Yanks.  Liam Martley hit a long home run and had 4 rbi’s and Will Rocchetti had two triples and a double for the Cardinals.


The Red Sox beat the Cubs today 8-6 in a very well played game.  Leading the way for the Sox was Josh Smith with 3 hits and 3 rbi’s, and John Tischio with 3 hits and 2 outstanding plays in CF.  For the Cubs, Lucas Holliman had 3 hits and 2 rbi’s, and Colby Arnold had 3 hits, 1 rbi, and 2 runs scored.
