Thursday’s Games at Batter Up

We had some fun on Thursday with some longer games than usual, mostly 9 inning games

that produced some very good action.  In the Diamondbacks and Rockies game, there

were many standout performances.  Henry Brennan went had three hits, Dean Depietro

had two rbi’s, Jack Allyn had two hits and two rbi’s, Jackson Brenek had a big day with

three hits and two rbi’s, Ryan Bonesteel had 2 hits and an rbi, and Jesse Pacheco had

two rbi’s.  The Rockies beat the Dbacks 15-11.

The Yankees defeated the Cardinals 9-5, in a game that saw some outstanding plays by

both teams.  David Defanti was the standout on the day for the Cardinals going 3-4 with

2 rbi’s.

The Red Sox beat the Cubs 7-6 in an exciting game on the red field.  Chris Munzer and

Casey Semenuk each had 3 hits for the Sox, Kyle Tavares had two hits and an rbi as well.

Semenuk had an inside the park home run and made some outstanding plays at SS.

Ben Anderson had 2 hits and 2 rbi’s keeping the Cubs in the game.

In the Gators-Canes-Uconn College World Series, it was UConn that had the upper hand

Thursday.  The Huskies were led by Mike Fiore defensive play, making a couple diving

stops while Blake Busch hit an inside the park home run for UConn.  Coach Davila and

Coach Hurley promised to have the Canes and Gators ready to play on Friday.
