Thursday’s Batter Up Results, Walk-Off Central

Thursday’s games at camp were perhaps the best yet, with some very competitive

games coming down to the wire.  We had walk off wins all around the complex, and

we will start with the Yankee-Red Sox rivalry.

The Sox had taken the first three games of the series, until the Yanks pulled one out

today on a walk off single by Connor Powell, who went 3-3 with 2 rbi’s.  Lucas Holliman

the Sox, Liam Martley went 5-5, Josh Fields had 3 hits and 5 rbi’s and Jackson Deperry

UCLA beat Miss St. to even the series at 2-2, with a hard fought 9-8 victory.   UCLA won

on a walk off single by Sean Raymond, scoring Hudson Byers who had a hit earlier in

the inning.  For UCLA, Nate Petriel had 3 rbi’s, Wynn Hammond had 4 hits and 3 runs

scored.  Leading Miss St. was Cole Devoe with 2 hits and 2 rbi’s, and Jose Rodriquez

with 2 rbi’s.

In yet another thrilling Mets and Braves game, the Braves won on a walk off 3 run home

run over the left field fence by Julian Rodriquez to win 23-22.  The Braves trailed by

7 going into the bottom of the 9th!!  Max Laterra hit two GRAND SLAMS in the game

for the Braves, while Francisco Benbow hit a 3 run homer for the Mets.  Quinn Labelle,

Wyatt Verbridge, and Zach Miner all had multiple hits and doubles for the Mets.

The Rockies defeated the Diamondbacks 7-6 on a walk off 2 run single by Alex Jones

in the last inning to win the game.  The Dbacks had a strong comeback to take the lead

by scoring 5 runs to go up 6-5 in the top of the inning.  Charlie McPherson had two

doubles and 4 rbi’s for the dbacks.  Evan Piotrowski and Cam Masucci each had two hits

for the Rockies.

In the Seminoles-Gators-Hurricanes games, the Seminoles posted their second straight

victory of the round robin series.  Coach Chipper reported that while everybody played

well and hustled, he wanted to give a full recap of the week after the championship games

were played on Friday so he can give  a full report on each kid in the series.
