State Tournament Baseball Notes

There are a bunch of teams from the area who figure to do well this post-season, and

some of whom are real contenders to win state championships.  In Class L, Fitch, East

Lyme, and Waterford all have very deep pitching staffs and could make runs to Palmer

Field.  In Class M, Montville is the top seed and will have a bye as they try to win their

third straight state championship.  Other local teams in M that could make noise are

Windham, Stonington, Plainfield and Killingly.  In Class S Lyman and St. Bernard look

to have the best shot to go deep into the tournament based on their pitching strength.

If Old Lyme can beat East Catholic in round 1, the Wildcats have a good chance to reach

the quarterfinals.  Best of luck to all the teams, coaches and players participating in the

tournaments.  Have fun.

Bill, too bad Killingly and Montville have to play and that SB and Lyman meet in the second round. Who wins the SB game today based on who they have on the mound?
