Eastern CT Fab 5 Baseball

My updated standings going into Thursday’s games, after another exciting week of

baseball.  There are some very talented teams and players, hopefully teams can do

very well come state tournament time.

1-Waterford, the Lancers hang on to the top spot after beating Montville and New

London and are still in first in the Large.  Their pitching has been dominant.

2-East Lyme, the Vikings are dangerous and have some good wins under their belt

so far.  Chase Livingston has is living up to the hype around him, which is no surprise.

3- Fitch, the Falcons are hot right now and have pitching and the area’s best all around

player in Aaron Hill.  They will give EL and Waterford a run for the title in the Large.

4- Montville, the Indians stumbled against Waterford and Fitch but still have a very

talented team that should have their way with Class M during state tournament.

5-Stonington/Saint Bernard, the Bears beat the Saints in a tight ball game Tuesday night

at Stonington and are winning the games they should.  It will be interesting to see how they

do against Montville when they play soon.  I gave the Saints a tie for 5th because even

though they have lost a few games so far, they are about to go on a long winning streak.

I expect them to win just about all of their remaining regular season games, and have

a long run in the state tournament.

SB will be fine, they just had a couple lapses early in the season. Watch the next 12 games, I am here to tell you that they are going to run over people and look out if the bats get going. Izzy Davila pitched great the other night at Stonington, who by the way is a very good team, but was a little unlucky with some errors behind him. As for Chase Livingston, he is a stud catcher, has all the tools to do very well at next level. He has signed to play at URI, and is the best catcher in the area at this point.
