Batter Up Results From July 12 Championship Games

We had a great week of camp, capped off by Friday’s doubleheader of games as we saw

some exciting action on all the fields.  As we stress to the kids throughout every week,

you try and win the games, but its ok if you lose.   I thought our kids did an outstanding

job hustling and showing good sportsmanship all week.  Here’s the rundown from Friday.

The Dodgers beat the Giants in a great game 14-12, led by Chris Meninno’s 3 run home

run and Max Van Husen’s 5 rbi’s.  Jack Meninno had 3 hits and 2 rbi’s, while Brody

Lippincott had two hits.  Derek Stradzuck made a couple of nice plays in the field to

lead the defense.

The Hurricanes, Gators, and Seminoles round robin series went to the ‘Noles on the week.

Leading the way for the Seminoles were Jayden Valace with 2 hits and 2 rbi’s and Spencer

Haynes who had two hits and two runs scored.  For the Gators, John Shenasky had

four hits, including two doubles and 4 rbi’s, Jeffrey Fabian and John Coffee each had

four hits and 2 rbi’s.  For the ‘Canes, Jackson Burridge and Liam Fallon each had inside

the park home runs and 2 rbi’s.

In the UCLA-Mississippi game, UCLA won the series behind some explosive offense

led by Evan McCue’s two home runs.  Joel Collado chipped in 3 hits and some great

defense, while Will Sutman hit a bomb for a home run for Miss St.  Rocco Brucoli added

two hits, while Anthony Jessuck chipped in two hits and two runs scored.

The Yankees won the 11-12 World Series with  convincing over the Cardinals, led by

Kevin Pomroy’s big day with 3 hits and two rbi’s, while the Cards were led by Mikey

Buscetto.  There were many outstanding performances throughout the week in the

Yanks, Sox, Cubs, and Cardinals tournament.  Alec Elmer, Elijah Young, Josh Martin,

Ty Chiasson, Kevin Mills, Liam Kane, Brady Sheffield, Spencer Winakor, Ian Small,

Zachary Chateauneuf, Ian Spracklin, and Kyle Huebner all had multiple hit games

along the way.

I saved the best for last, as the Mets and Braves played yet another epic thriller with

the Braves pulling out a 13-12 win to tie the series for the week.  Leading the Braves

was Jack Hayes who had the walk off game winning single, while Jax Higgins hit a home

run, Katie Koning had a big rbi single for the Braves.  For the Mets, Hayden Chappel tuned

an unassisted triple play!! Hayden also had a double and a triple, while Noah Farrior

had two hits.  Shea Cahill, Sean Kramer, Christian Hewko, Alex Maxsim, Paul Passas,

Steven Passas, Carmine Bruno, Josh Alix, and Anthony Nematalla all had hits in the

game.  Coach Payne and Coach Jordan said the effort and hustle was great all week!
