Andy Pettitte Takes One For The Team

Andy Pettitte figured out a way to not “be the guy that put Roger Clemens in jail.”  He

simply claimed that he “could have” been mistaken when he thought he heard Clemens

tell him that he had used human growth hormones.  By phrasing it like that, he helped

his buddy and also kept himself out of trouble.  Clemens will end up getting cleared of

these charges based largely on Pettitte’s testimony.  More importantly to Pettitte is that

he won’t be looked at as a “rat” in baseball circles.  The whole case is ridiculous anyway,

on why the government feels it has to waste millions of dollars of taxpayers money to

see if a baseball player lied to Congress.
