2015 Batter Up Camp Results-Monday

We kicked off our 22nd Annual Batter Up Camp in style today with over 120 campers and 7 outstanding baseball games.  With many of our kids having been at camp before, they jumped right in and did an outstanding job today.  Here are the results from our games today.

The Mets and the Braves played an intense game today ending in a 5-5 tie.  Joseph Muscarella went 2-2 including a huge double and Wyatt Farrior also hit a hot shot past the pitcher for an rbi to lead the Mets comeback.  Alex Amaro and Jackson Lilienthal both flashed the leather today, making some outstanding plays in the field.

 

The Dodgers and Giants played to a 7-7 tie today in a hotly contested game.  Leading the way for the World Champion San Francisco Giants was Katie Koning with 2 hit and 3 rbi’s, while James Tischio had 3 hits and 2 rbi’s.  The Dodgers were led by Carmine Bruno and Ryan Gemaly, who had 2 hits and 2 runs scored each.

 

The Angels defeated in the Nationals in an offensive slugfest today by the score of 13-9.  Aidan Johnson led the way for the Angels hitting for the cycle, including a 3 run home run.  Brian Lowe chipped in two hits, including a 2 rbi triple.  For the Nationals, Mason Nocery had two doubles, Miles Gada had 2 rbi’s, and Torin Gordy and Cooper Sheehan each had two hits.

 

In our college world series bracket, the Miami Hurricanes avenged last season’s championship game loss with an exciting 8-7 win over reigning Batter Up champion Florida Gators.  Noah Scurto had a huge day with two bases loaded triples and finished with 6 rbi’s to lead Miami.  For the Gators, Anthony Sharples had a great game with 2 doubles and a triple and 3 rbi’s.  Chris Meninno, Austin Sevigny, and Max Vandusen all had multiple hits in the game.

 

In our second college world series game, Arizona State Sun Devils defeated the LSU Tigers 11-7.  Leading the way for ASU was Maddox Guillet, Ava Roth, and Jordan Gowac who each had two hits and scored runs.  Also having big games were Eli Sahadi and Simon Gear.  Leading the way for LSU was Jason Beach with a home run, double, and 2 rbi’s.  Nicholas Adeletti also homered, and John Coffee had two hits.

 

The Red Sox started off the MLB playoffs with a 5-3 win over the Yankees.  Leading the way for the Sox were Jack Cabral and Avery Gugliotti who each had 2 hits and 2 rbi’s.  For the Yankees, Hunter McDuff and Chris Watrous had a triple and a single each, and Evan McCue had two hits.  Miles Sarmiento also had two hits and an rbi.

 

The Cubs beat the Cardinals 5-4 in the MLB playoffs in a very good game.  Leading the way for the Cubs was Harley Perreno with 3 hits and 3 rbis’, and Ben Sartori with 4 hits and an rbi, including two doubles.  For the Cardinals, they were led by Liam Martley’s two hits and Mika Guillet’s stellar defense that saved some runs.
